.David Corbett's "The Light Programme"
As broadcast on Sunday evenings on Serenade Radio

We very sadly record the death of David Corbett on 13th July 2023.

David was born in Shropshire in 1943 and his life-long interest was light music. He had been a member of the Light Music Society and our London Light Music Meetings Group for many years.

He was also the author of a book about his favourite radio programme of the 50s and 60s, 'Those Were the Days', a programme of old time dances played by Harry Davidson and His Orchestra, which was broadcast from 1943 until 1966 on the BBC Home Service.

David's programmes are all about 'your kind of light orchestral music'.

As a tribute to David, we intend to repeat here, on a rolling basis, the entire series of 'The Light Programme' which began in March 2017
